Customer ProfilesUpdated a year ago

Customer profiles contain critical information like phone number and email address. They can also include addition contact details and notes.

Notes

The note field on a customers profile is a great place to add a custom message about that person. This field that can be edited by anyone in your Gorgias account, and will update in real time for all users.

If your admin has enabled the 'sync with Shopify' setting, this will also sync with the customer note field in Shopify (more about this below).

A common use case for the note field is to add details about:

  • when/how to contact them
  • important relationships they may have
  • allowances outside of company policy (discounts, etc...)

eg. 'not responsive on email, contact via chat', 'friends with owner', or 'owners daughter, eligible for family & friends discount'.

Sync with Shopify

Your admin may have chosen to enable the Syncronize customer notes option in the Shopify integration.

If this option is enabled, updating a customer's note in Shopify will also update it in Gorgias, and updating it in Gorgias will update it in Shopify:

  • if two people are editing a single customer's note at the same time in Shopify and Gorgias, the first one to save the data will overwrite the other one's modifications
  • if a single Gorgias customer is associated with two or more Shopify customers on two or more Shopify stores, its note will not be synchronized from Shopify, and updating the Gorgias customer note won't update any Shopify customer note

More info

The more info button expands the customers profile to show all available information for that customer. This includes additional contact details, location, and local time.

Last seen

If we can detect what a customer was last seen, this can be viewed by hovering over their status indicator on their avatar (in the most recent ticket message).

The indicator will be grey if not seen recently, orange is seen recently and green if active.
