Updating Shipment LocationsUpdated a year ago

Overview

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to update a shipment location in NetSuite. It is essential to follow location assignment rules once an order is approved. These rules include:

Location Assignment Rules:

  1. Priority Location Setting:
    • Determine if a priority location is set. Follow existing settings or default rules accordingly.
  2. Ship Complete Status:
    • Verify if the "Ship Complete" option is enabled or disabled as it affects location assignment.
  3. Logistics Order Type:
    • Identify the Logistics Order Type (E-Commerce or Other) linked to the order to apply relevant rules.
  4. Stock Availability:
    • Consider the availability of stock for items in the order to determine the appropriate location.

Step-by-Step Procedure for Updating NetSuite Location:

  1. From the Global Search, locate and open the order.
  2. Select the order to update, then click 'Edit' to make changes.
  3. Scroll to the line-item level details at the bottom of the order.
  4. Locate the 'Location' field on the left-hand side.
  5. Adjust the 'Location' field to designate the desired warehouse for shipping.
  6. Click 'Save' to confirm and complete the location update.
  7. Double-check the updated location for accuracy.

Note: If all rules are met, an Item Fulfillment is automatically generated with a 'Picked' status. Additionally, a Sales Order remains 'Pending Fulfillment' if any items are backordered. Orders may be split if the 'Ship Complete' option is unchecked.
